BROCKVILLE DISTRICT FISH AND GAME
CLUB
NEWSLETTER
MAY 2006
Important: Remember that we are allowed to
shoot handguns and 22 rifles in the pistol house. On the rifle range we are
allowed too shot rifles at 100 yds. But no handguns are allowed on the rifle
range.
Each
year the membership chairman has to call the members who have not paid their
dues. Remember your dues are paid until December 31 of each year, if not paid
then January 1, you are not a member in good standing. If you have handguns your "ATT"is
no longer valid. If we send a cancellation, you will have to requalify and
reapply. A simple way of avoiding this is to pay dues before December 31 of
each year. We are not threatening anyone, we are just stating the facts. If you
are stopped by the OPP you can be charged with not having a valid
"ATT".

REPORT
FROM THE RANGE OPERATOR
There
have been a lot of changes in the club in 2005 and there will be a lot changes
to come in 2006. As you can see from other parts of this newsletter that we
have a new executive and a few changes in the committee chairpersons.
At this
point in time the range has had an inspection on June 15, 2005, which brought
out a few deficiencies in the ranges physical make up. The 300 yard berm was
not high enough to meet O P P standards. The Board of Directors authorized the
funds to bring it up to the 22 ft. [minimum] standard during the summer months.
At the same time, with the equipment on site the 100 yard covered range was
straightened up and anchored to slow down any future leaning. That being said, although the 300 yard does
now meets O P P standard, it HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED.
Therefore,
until that has been done the 300 yard range MUST REMAIN CLOSED!!!
